A Message from Glen Bradley
To the good folks of Franklin, Nash, and Halifax counties, thank you for trusting me to represent you in the North Carolina State House of Representatives this last session. It has truly been my honor to stand in the defense of the principles we hold dear.
To the good folks of Franklin and Wake counties, thank you for considering me as a candidate to serve you in the North Carolina State Senate. If you bestow upon me the honor of serving as your State Senator, I will –to the best of my ability– continue to uphold and defend the US and NC State Constitutions. And I will fight for the critical issues of our day such as job growth and upholding conservative principles against the corruption, special interests, lobbying and influence trading that damages our State, our government, and our party today.
I am not running for the State Senate from a desire for position, power, or notoriety. Indeed, it is my primary interest to return the power as locally as possible, even to the sovereign individual yearning to breathe free. It is not from want but from necessity. If my service in the NC State House in 2011 and 2012 has shown me anything, it is that I am the only voice in the General Assembly insisting that our government strictly obeys our Constitutions.
I have been very frustrated at Representatives and Senators who do either whatever they like or whatever the leadership tells them to do with no respect for our principles and no respect for the wills of the districts they represent. Therefore I served in the State House and –when not in conflict with the Constitution or Conservative principle– I carried out the will of the district I represented even when I personally disagreed. That is how representative government is supposed to work.
The lobbyists and the special interests no longer come to my door because I do not vote according to who has the most cash or who can peddle the most influence. I vote according to the US and NC State Constitutions, and according to the will of the District I represent.
My number one priority in the Senate will be the same as the one which House District 49 elected me to accomplish in the General Assembly: restoring job growth. I have already experienced a good deal of success in working toward this goal. Although the General Assembly leadership made a great effort to prevent my bills from going before votes in committee hearings, I successfully forced the language from my House Bill 587 NC Job Growth into the Joint Committee Senate Bill 781 Regulatory Reform which passed into law by Veto Override.
The Joint Committee took up 90% of my job growth language from House Bill 587, but they did not assemble it correctly, and Senate Bill 781 will not be nearly as effective at restoring job growth as House Bill 587 would have been. Therefore my primary goal in the Senate will be to improve job growth for the people of North Carolina by repairing the damage which the Joint Committee did to HB587 when they incorporated it into SB781.
My second priority will be to push our State and our Country back toward strict Constitutional compliance. And although I am often on the short side of 119 to 1 votes, I have already earned the respect of rank and file Republicans and Democrats alike by voting only in accordance with our Constitutions.
Thank you so much for your time and your interest in learning about my platform, principles, and solid Constitutional conservative record. America and North Carolina are in more trouble than many people realize, and the only solution is to restore the Constitution, get us back on track to peace and prosperity, and consider the well being of our future generations. Together we can save our beloved state and nation by demanding that our governments obey the Constitution at the ballot box. Your vote has the power to restore North Carolina and America and to renew the hope and greatness of the most prosperous and free people the world has ever known.
Thank you, and God bless.
